APPROACH

DESIGNING FROM A SIMPLE SKETCH

Designing a 3D character based on a client brief is a collaborative and detailed process. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of how this typically unfolds, including the requirements and stages involved:

Purpose:

Understand the client’s needs, goals, and vision for the 3D character.

Requirements:

Client’s Vision: What the character will be used for (e.g., video games, animations, marketing).

Target Audience:

Who will be interacting with or viewing the character.

Style:

Whether the character should be realistic, stylized, cartoonish, etc.

Budget & Timeline:

How much time and money can be allocated for the project.

UV Mapping:

Unwrapping the 3D model to apply textures accurately.

Textures:

Creating or sourcing textures (e.g., skin, fabric).

Shaders:

Applying materials that define how the character interacts with light.

Rigging and Animation (if applicable)

Purpose:Prepare the character for movement and interaction.

Rigging:

Adding bones and controls to allow for movement.

Animation: Creating animations or setting up the character for animation, if required by the project.
